all my cd rom dvd roms gone

I BELIEVE after one of the updates not sure which one yet. but all my cd/dvd roms went bye bye they show up in the device manager but no other place. this is what the device manager says "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)" -- ELGGY

Have you rebooted the computer? Have you tried reinstalling the OS? dotcom

Have you tried uninstalling the updates? Have you tried System Restore?
